Peter Jones is a Sheffield-born artist and musician. He has worked as a broadcaster, writer, artist, photographer and musician, and has played in 35 bands over 25 years.
His main instruments are piano, drums and bass guitar, and he is also a backing vocalist.
His bands have varied from Indian Classical to improvised jazz and out-and-out punk rock. Over the years he has played several hundred gigs around the country, some 'live' on local radio. He has written and recorded music for bands, poets and radio programme 'idents'.
His poetry has been published in numerous magazines, books, and papers (including by Longmans Publishers), as well as being performed 'live' at events, and on-air.
He has contributed to several arts and entertainments magazines over the years, as a writer and reviewer, and occasionally also as an illustrator and cartoonist.
Peter is currently working on a series of books and musical slide-shows based on his ten-years' experience of life in Sheffield's now disappearing deck-access high rise estates.
